Privacy Policy

Statement Analyzer (“the app”) is published by Dhondooo. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what your choices are.
The short version
- The app never connects to your bank and never asks for your banking login, PIN or OTP.
- We do not store your card number. Cards are identified by a name you choose yourself.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers, and there is no advertising or usage tracking in the app.
- If you upload a statement PDF, that file is sent to a third-party text-recognition service to be read. See Reading your statement PDFs — you can avoid this entirely by entering statements by hand.
- You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
What we collect
Your account
The app requires an account so your data can sync and stay yours. Accounts are handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- What we hold: your email address, the display name you set, and an account identifier. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google — we never see your Google password.
- Why: to sign you in and to keep your data separated from everyone else’s.
- Passwords: if you use an email and password, the password is handled and stored by Firebase Authentication. We never see it.
The cards you add
For each card you track: the name you give it, its credit limit, and its statement and payment due dates.
We do not ask for or store your card number, CVV, expiry date, or any banking credential. The card “name” is a label you choose, such as “Gold” or “Everyday card”.
Your statement data
For each statement you add, by hand or from a PDF: the statement date, the opening and closing balance, and the totals for purchases, fees, payments and credits. Where transactions are available, we also store each transaction’s date, the merchant description as printed on the statement, the amount, and the spending category it was sorted into.
- Why: this is the app. It is what the charts, categories and summaries are built from.
- Where: Google Firebase Firestore, under your account.
- Retention: until you delete it or delete your account.
Reading your statement PDFs
Please read this before uploading a statement
When you upload a statement PDF, the app sends that file to OCR.space, a third-party text-recognition service, which reads the text and sends it back. The app then picks out the figures.
The file that is sent is your statement as it is. That normally includes everything your bank printed on it — which may include your name, your address, your card number as shown on the statement, and your full list of transactions.
If you would rather no third party saw your statement, add your statements manually instead. Manual entry never sends anything anywhere except to your own account.
We do not keep a copy of the uploaded PDF, and we do not store the raw text that comes back. Only the figures and transactions described above are saved to your account.
What OCR.space does with a file it receives is governed by its own privacy policy and terms, not this one.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifier, or browsing history. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no usage tracking.
Service providers
- Google Firebase Authentication — signs you in and holds your email, display name and password. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Google Firebase Firestore — stores your cards, statements and transactions.
- OCR.space — reads uploaded statement PDFs, as described above. Only involved if you upload a PDF.
- Vercel — hosts the web version of the app.
- Cloudflare — serves this page.
Security
Traffic between the app and our providers is encrypted in transit. No service can promise perfect security, but we do not collect the things that would do the most damage if they leaked: we hold no card numbers and no banking credentials.
Your rights and choices
- Add statements without a third party seeing them — use manual entry rather than PDF upload.
- Correct anything — every figure, transaction, description and category can be edited or deleted in the app.
- Delete your account — in the app under Settings → Delete Account, or by following these instructions. This removes your cards, statements and transactions along with the account.
- Ask us about your data — email the address below with any question about what is held under your account.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Not affiliated with any bank
Statement Analyzer is an independent app. It is not provided by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any bank or card issuer. Bank and product names are used only to describe whose statement a figure came from, and belong to their owners.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
